The problems we are usually asked to solve

Most owners cannot say with confidence what their business is worth, yet nearly every important decision depends on it: selling, bringing in an investor, buying out a partner, granting share options or settling a dispute. A rigorous valuation replaces opinion with evidence.

01

You have an offer and no idea if it is fair

Without a benchmark you either accept too little or reject a good deal.

How we fix itWe value the business independently using several methods, so you negotiate with evidence.

02

Shareholders disagree on value

A buy-out or exit stalls because each side holds a different number.

How we fix itWe provide an impartial, reasoned valuation that can be shared with all parties.

03

You want to grant employee share options

Schemes such as EMI need an agreed HMRC valuation, and getting it wrong creates tax problems.

How we fix itWe prepare the valuation and supporting submission to agree the position with HMRC.

04

Tax events need a value

Gifts, transfers, reorganisations and capital gains planning all depend on defensible share values.

How we fix itWe prepare valuation reports designed to withstand HMRC scrutiny.

Questions we are often asked

How long does a valuation take?

A straightforward valuation normally takes two to three weeks once we have your information. Complex or contentious cases take longer.

Is your valuation accepted by HMRC and courts?

We prepare reports to a professional standard that sets out methodology and assumptions clearly. For litigation we can coordinate with a designated expert where required.

What information do you need?

Recent accounts, forecasts, details of shareholdings and rights, and a short discussion about the business and its market.

Tell us what is on your mind. We will tell you honestly how we can help.
